| Resumo: | O presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso propõe um estudo, uma análise e uma reflexão acerca da tradução intersemiótica do livro Frankenstein ou o Prometeu Moderno (2014), de Mary Shelley para o seriado televisivo Penny Dreadful (2014), produzido por John Logan. O presente trabalho justifica-se pela necessidade de mais bibliografia brasileira acadêmica na área de tradução intersemiótica em seriados televisivos. Para o desenvolvimento das análises faz-se uso do aporte teórico proposto por autores como Roman Jakobson (1969), Thais Flores Diniz (2001) e Julio Plaza (2008) para compreender as estratégias utilizadas pelo tradutor – John Logan – na escolha dos signos imagéticos adotados na construção da narrativa seriada. Por intermédio desse estudo foi possível fazer uma análise do processo de tradução intersemiótica em que evidenciou-se que as personagens Victor Frankenstein e sua criatura foram transpostos para a série como Victor Frankenstein e Caliban respectivamente sem alterar a expressividade e temática propostas pela narrativa de Shelley para as personagens da série televisiva. |
| Abstract: | The present work proposes a study, an analysis and a reflection on the intersemiotic translation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein or Modern Prometheus (2014) for the television series Penny Dreadful (2014), produced by John Logan. This work is justified by the need for more Brazilian academic bibliography in the field of intersemiotic translation in what comes to television series. In order to understand the strategies used by the translator - John Logan - in the choice of the imagery signs, we propose a theoretical contribution proposed by authors such as Roman Jakobson (1969), Thais Flores Diniz (2001) and Julio Plaza (2008) adopted in the construction of the serie’s narrative. Through this study it was possible to make an analysis of the intersemiotic translation process. The results have showed that the characters Victor Frankenstein and his creature were transposed for the Television series as Victor Frankenstein and Caliban respectively without changing the expressiveness and thematic proposed by Shelley’s narrative for the characters in the television series. |
