Abstract

This monograph aims to study the stability of slopes of three districts of Francisco Beltrão, they are Industrial, Jardim Seminário and São Cristóvão. Using the techniques of remote sensing on the rise the mapping was done of slope and soil types that were processed together to form a new map with the potential use of soil for urban purposes, identifying areas for free occupation, partial occupation, restricted occupation and areas for permanent preservation. For that, as a tool used the SPRING software, mainly LEGAL analysis, to process the database with relevant information for each district, it was also used soil information from EMBRAPA and textural soil analysis performed at points of great importance. The study resulted in an analysis of the current situation of urban occupation in these districts, for the generated maps and relevant legislation federal and local. The results showed the need for greater attention by the competent institutions for the laws of installment of urban soil, as well as greater involvement of the same for the population security and reducing environmental impacts through civil buildings. Situations of irregularity were observed in the three districts analyzed, when superimposed on a satellite image with map of potential use of soil, with violation of federal and local laws, especially in the new installments of the São Cristóvão district. The applied methodology can be extended to other districts serving as a model for enabling the proper implementation of urban settlements.
